Dan Dubeau: Owner / Operator of Dandee Music
The youngest of six kids, I was born in July 1964, and from the very beginning, music was a part of my life in some way.
I come from a musical family, so there would be no surprise in me starting to play guitar at the age of 8, and playing in my first working band by the age of 12. From that point, playing in organized professional groups became the main focus of my music career, as I appeared over the years in several bands well-known throughout the Valley and throughout Ontario as a whole.
As the years went by, life began to display itself in different, yet wonderful forms, both in terms of employment and family. The adrenaline rush of the road began to morph into a more traditional form of employment, resulting in eighteen recent years being spent employed with a major manufacturing company. And as for family, married to my sweetheart with four children and a grandson is as good as it can get for any man, as far as I’m concerned.
I’ve always loved music, and it still represents a big chunk of who I am. I’ve been teaching guitar for the past ten years, and have every intention of rolling with that on into the future. And, as well, I still find time to get together with other like-minded musicians who care about their community, by playing for benefits and other noteworthy causes as they arise.
I, of course, have other dimensions, as others do. I play hockey year-round, love golf, coach Special Olympics adults and children, and have a great excitement for nice cars.
Life is full, and it’s busy.
And I’m living the dream.
