Famous Guitar Makes Its Way To Dandee Music

Imagine how exciting it would be to hold a guitar in your hands that had been played by a legend.  In fact, imagine what it might be like to play a guitar that had somehow managed to float through time.  An instrument that has been played by several of the guitar giants, musicians well-respected throughout the world.

At Dandee Music, we just happen to be fortunate enough to have such a guitar in our possession.

How about a 1968 Martin Dreadnought D-18?

Does that do anything for you? And if it doesn’t, how would you feel if you knew  it was played by Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, and Gerry Garcia, to name a few?

The guitar we’re showcasing  is a piece that’s part of the Dandee culture, something we look at every day we go to work.

A Dandee Student Continues to Grow

When Ethan Jones saw the guitar under the tree on Christmas morning, he was hoping against hope that the gift was for his sister. But a closer inspection revealed the Fender acoustic was, indeed, intended for him.

“Great,” he remembers thinking, with more than a touch of sarcasm. “A guitar.”

But along with that guitar came a membership in the Dandee Music experience, where, for thirty minutes a week, Ethan would take lessons from noted local guitarist Dan Dubeau, who happens to be the owner/operator of Dandee Music. And in the eighteen months since, Ethan has progressed to the point where an electric guitar has been added to the instrument package, and weekly lessons are something to be looked forward to.

Why Teach Music?

Music, and the learning associated with it, is more than just a hobby that one learns for thirty minutes a week, assuming the opportunity is there to take music lessons.

Music, accurately put, is an education. An education not simply limited to music itself, but rather one that incorporates all sorts of things that would be taught at school, only under different banners.

Music, for example, is a study in science. It is exact and specific, and demands exact acoustics. Think of a conductor of an orchestra, and imagine the score of the music played, a graph indicating frequencies, intensities, volume changes, melody and harmony, all at once, and with exact control of time.
